Cyclone in Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi, the category 5 storm, is expected to make landfall when it strikes the Australian coast after whipping across Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The storm front is more than 310 miles (500 kilometres) wide. Yasi is so strong, it could reach far inland before it significantly loses power.
