Torrential rain caused floods and landslides in the Artvin Province of Turkey on 24 August. Eight people were killed, and several more were reported missing.

It has been described as the heaviest rainfall the area has experienced in fifty years.

A heat wave in Russia's Siberian District has started over one hundred forest fires in the Buryatia and Irkustkaya Republics.
The fires began in July and despite efforts to fight the blazes, the fires have spread to cover an area of approximately 100,000 hectares.

The Pampas Region of Argentina is experiencing floods after days of torrential rain. Three people died and the Buenos Aires Province is particularly affected by the flooding, where over 11 thousand people have been evacuated.

Heavy rainfall has caused floods and landslides in northern and central Chile. Five people have been reported killed, and over a thousand were evacuated to safer ground.

It is the heaviest rainfall that the region has experienced in several years.

Torrential monsoon rains have flooded large areas of Myanmar, leaving at least 69 people dead and affecting the homes of more than 250,000 people, across 12 of Myanmar's 14 states. Many areas are cut off with flooding, high waters and landslides.
