インドネシアの地震

マグニチュード6.5の地震が、スマトラ島の北東沿岸沖のインドネシアのアチェ州を直撃した。
地方当局は、97人の死亡と数百人の負傷を報告した。
 
ピディ・ジャヤ地区のエリアが最も震源地に近く、多くのモスクと商店、そして学校1棟を含む、少なくとも250の建物が損壊する最悪の被害を受けた。
 
より多くの人々が倒壊した建物の下に閉じ込めらている恐れがあるので、インドネシア大統領は救出作業を支援する為、直ちに数百の軍隊、掘削機械、医療スタッフを派遣した。
 
津波警報は発令しなかったが、その地域の余震の恐怖の中、数百人が住宅から避難した。
インドネシアの災害機関の報道官は、復旧作業が目下進行中である為、死亡者数と犠牲者数は増加する見通しと言及した。
