The International Charter aims at
providing a unified system of space data acquisition and delivery to
those affected by natural or man-made disasters through Authorized
Users. Each member agency has committed resources to support the
provisions of the Charter and thus is helping to mitigate the
effects of disasters on human life and property.
Hurricane in Louisiana, USA 02/09/2008
Hurricane Gustav has made landfall as a category 2 storm in Louisiana in the USA and has caused much wind and water damage. A full scale evacuation had taken place on 31 August, with more than two million people along the coast in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi leaving their homes.
New DVD"Charter in Action" 17 June 2008
The new DVD "Charter in Action" has been produced with the aim of describing the activities of the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters and its usefulness in promoting international cooperation.
