Description of Event

Heavy rains have caused severe floods in 92 counties from six provinces and the capital city of the DPRK from 5-14 August 2007.
The Government figures indicate at least 454 people dead, 156 missing and 4,351 people injured. The floods have affected over 436,000 people and displaced 169,561 people. According to the Government of DPRK, some 40,463 houses were destroyed, 133,732 houses submerged and 67,056 badly damaged. Significant damage to bridges and railways were also reported.
