The International Charter aims at
providing a unified system of space data acquisition and delivery to
those affected by natural or man-made disasters through Authorized
Users. Each member agency has committed resources to support the
provisions of the Charter and thus is helping to mitigate the
effects of disasters on human life and property.
Earthquake in Saudi Arabia 08/06/2009
There have been a series of earthquakes in the area over the past weeks, since May. Approximately 20000 people have been evacuated.

In association with the French Space Agency (CNES) and the British National Space Centre (BNSC), the European Space Agency (ESA) organised a workshop to promote and optimise the access and use of satellite imagery for disaster response.
